Admissions
Matheia welcomes applicants throughout the school year under our rolling admissions policy, as space allows.
To be considered for admission, each applicant needs to complete the steps described below.
STEP 1
Fill out the form below to schedule your tour! Or if you prefer, simply contact our Admissions Coordinator at (206) 283-1828 or matheia@matheia.org.
STEP 2
Matheia will contact you! Matheia will reach out via email and send you a registration form. Complete the registration and return it to Matheia. A Zoom or in-person meeting will be arranged and you can learn more about Matheia. An in-person visit must be completed before an admissions packet will be provided.
STEP 3
Submit Application Packet. When you decide that Matheia is the right fit for your child, complete the registration form and return it to our office with a $35 non-refundable Application Fee. We will then schedule a student visit for your child.
STEP 4
Schedule a Student Visit*. During this visit, students in grades 1-5 will participate in class activities to get them acquainted with the school, teachers, fellow peers, and truly get a sense of what it will feel like to be part of the community at Matheia. This is an all day visit.
Kindergarten visits are scheduled in the morning and are an hour and a half.
Admissions Application Deadline for 2024/2025 School year is February 15th. ff you are still searching for schools for the current academic year, please contact us to schedule a tour ASAP - we may have one kindergarten spot left! The date a completed application is received can be a factor used in our decision making process.
Decision letters will be emailed in February; applicant responses, contract and deposit are due 2 weeks after receiving the acceptance letter.
Attend an Open House. We are hopeful that this option returns in late fall 2024.
Tours
Our Admissions Coordinator is always happy to help set up a day and time for you to come visit Matheia. Tours can be scheduled after an application has been submitted. They are usually scheduled on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday morning at 9:30 am. Occasionally a tour may be scheduled on a weekend.

Criteria for Admissions
All students are welcome to apply to Matheia School. Educational testing is not required. Selection is based upon several elements:
We maintain a class size of ten to twelve students in each grade.
Our goal is to have a balanced number of boys and girls in each class.
We recognize that each child brings his or her own unique blend of abilities. We strive to compose classes that reflect a wide variety of backgrounds, abilities, and interests, and that will function well as a unit.
It is important to us to build strong relationships with families, so we give special consideration to applications of siblings of existing students.
